Secret 7″
Secret 7″ is an exciting project combining music and art, all in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust. Organiser Kevin King explains that “the project set out to rekindle some of the excitement for vinyl sleeve art in the digital era by exploring how a track would be interpreted by an array of brilliant artists. And raise a load of cash for Teenage Cancer Trust in the process.”
I was on the ‘crack team’ of designers creating secret record sleeves for the project. They’ve been exhibited at the Idea Generation Gallery all week and finally went on sale today to coincide with Record Store Day. Mine has been sold (there’s the empty space in the second photo) and after all the secrecy I can now reveal which one it is.
I still have my records from years ago (some from before my time) by Alice Cooper, the Cars, David Bowie – the limited edition pop-up covers and crazy coloured vinyl were always my favourites. I especially loved the 3D covers and incorporated this into my Secret 7″ sleeve so that when the butterflies are ‘popped-up’ the brightly coloured inner sleeve is revealed.

Photojam
In the relaxed lull after Christmas I thought I’d challenge a few people to a game of Photojam (inspired by a conversation with my brother). The games progress slowly as we’re all pretty busy, but they’re gradually building up into something interesting. Send me an email if you’d like to play too…
Photos featured in the new Cornershop video
Abi from Rude has created the video for the new Cornershop single, Soul School, featuring some of Sarah’s holiday snaps (leaping from Mexico to Africa and an Australian kangaroo popping its head up from time to time).
